JBC Landscape Architects guided the City of Carson through a comprehensive community visioning process focused on enhancing key transportation corridors and strengthening the town’s visual identity. Working closely with a local steering committee, the team led mapping exercises, visual assessments, goal-setting sessions, and the development of a cohesive concept plan supported by clear implementation strategies.
Early priorities centered on improving community entrances, revitalizing downtown and Broadway Boulevard, and expanding trail connections. With more than 3,100 vehicles traveling Highway 92 each day, corridor safety, walkability, and streetscape improvements became major points of emphasis. JBC conducted detailed analysis of Carson’s natural features, land use patterns, circulation systems, and overall character to ensure the concepts responded directly to local needs.
The resulting report outlines a coordinated set of enhancements, including redesigned entry and wayfinding signage, improved sidewalks and lighting along Highway 92 and Commercial Street, downtown streetscape upgrades, landscape and parking improvements along Broadway Boulevard, and a multi-phase trail system linking neighborhoods and natural areas. A full set of illustrated boards summarized these recommendations, giving the community a practical and compelling roadmap for future investment and community-wide improvements.
