Harwood Park
Located in downtown Dallas, Harwood Park transforms nearly four acres of the East Quarter into a vibrant urban green space. Designed by Ten Eyck Landscape Architects, the park includes a large children’s playground, two dog parks, a flexible event lawn, and ornamental gardens, blending large public gathering areas with smaller, more intimate spaces. A central green infrastructure corridor manages stormwater from the surrounding hardscape, restoring vital green space to this dense urban district.
JBC supported the project with soils and irrigation design, helping create healthy growing conditions within a tight, phased construction schedule. The design incorporated soil cells for street trees and internal plantings, as well as permanent planter irrigation systems to ensure long-term plant vitality. The use of reclaimed architectural materials adds character to the park, complementing the custom playground features and thoughtful landscape design.
