City of Des Moines Parks Signage Planning

For the City of Des Moines Parks and Recreation Department, JBC was tasked with creating drawings and specifications for fabrication of new wayfinding signage at nine (9) different parks throughout the City’s system.

Using Illustrator, InDesign, AutoCAD, and SketchUp imagery, the concepts, locations, materials, colors, font styles/sizes, and bid documents were finalized.

The project included new steel sign panels fabricated and installed within five parks. Four parks required the existing signage be installed on new concrete footings, which were detailed and dimensioned. The final park signage also required fabricated sign letters to be secured, and then installed and mounted securely on the concrete footings per the drawings and specifications that were developed.
