    Jeffrey Bruce named a Fellow with the American Society of Irrigation Consultants

    March 2018


    Jeffrey is officially a Fellow with the American Society of Irrigation Consultants. He joins an exclusive group of Irrigation Professionals who have been recognized by ASIC for their leadership, professionalism, and commitment to independent irrigation development, design, and management principles.


    Since founding Jeffrey L. Bruce & Company in 1986, Jeff has been continually involved in numerous industry organizations. He has served on the ASIC Board of Directors and its Executive Committee, he has been the Chairman of Green Roofs for Healthy Cities and a lead instructor of its seminars and a member of its Accreditation Committee. Additionally, Jeffrey is a LEED-accredited professional, a certified irrigation designer, an EPA WaterSense Certified Professional, and has been named to the ASLA Council of Fellows.


    He was officially inducted on March 6, 2018 in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada.

    JBC was honored twice through the 2017 Excellence in Irrigation Awards Program. Both Phase I of Chicago's Navy Pier and the George W. Bush Presidential Library were recognized in the Public/Commercial category.

    Iowa ASLA Fall Conference

    A full day's worth of events and presentations was held at the Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge in Prairie City, Iowa on Tuesday, September, 2016. Since its establishment in 1990, the Refuge's 5600 acres have educated many and have promoted continued research and understanding of native prairie and savanna ecosystems.

    JBC wins ASLA awards

    April 2016


    This spring, JBC received three awards throughout the Midwest. We attended and received awards at the ASLA Central States gala in Little Rock, AR, the Prairie Gateway chapter gala in Manhattan, KS, and at Iowa ASLA's Spring Conference in Des Moines, Iowa.


    JBC received two Merit Awards for our involvement with the Southwest Fisheries Science Center in La Jolla, California and received an Honor Award for Sustainable Design and Disaster Recovery in Mapleton, Iowa.

    Swope Park Championship Field Ready for Action

    Designed and constructed in 120 days, the championship field for the Swope Park Soccer Village is complete!  JBC worked closely with LAND3 Studio to provide irrigation engineering for the field.  The soccer village will serve as a home for many young kids across the city.

    NOAA La Jolla Southwest Fisheries Laboratory Grand Opening

    Inspired by the topography of the ocean and the culture of Southern California, the NOAA Southwest Fisheries Science Center officially opened.  The building and JBC designed green roofs embrace the coastal vernacular of outdoor terraces, courtyards, local coastal chaparral; all of which help connect researchers to the environment they are so dedicated to preserving.

    Disaster Recovery Workshops commence in Mapleton, Iowa

    June 18-19, 2013


    JBC is proud to announce their continued involvement with Iowa State University and the Community of Mapleton, IA. On April 9, 2011 an EF3 tornado touched down and leveled a majority of the town's west side. With around 1500 trees destroyed and many homes gone, Mapleton is looking at long-term recovery. JBC is currently brainstorming strategies for stormwater best management practices and and ecological systems design. We are certainly looking forward to future meetings with such a strong and progressive community. A news clip in our featured videos section to the right summarizes the workshop.

    Kansas University Historic District Earns National Recognition

    April 29, 2013


    The University of Kansas Historic District is now listed in the National Park Service's National Register of Historic Places. The district lies in the heart of the Lawrence Campus along Mount Oread and will now be preserved for future generations to enjoy. The historic district is recognized for its architecture, landscape architecture, and areas of education.

    George Bush Presidential Library Dedication

    The George Bush Presidential Library held a dedication ceremony bringing five U.S. Presidents together in Dallas, Texas. The Presidential Library and Museum will be open to the public starting May 1st.     Ozark Highlands National Heritage Area receives Award

    March 22, 2013


    Jeffrey L. Bruce & Company (JBC) is pleased to announce that they have received an Honor Award at the Eighth Annual Central States Conference of the American Society of Landscape Architects hosted in St. Louis. In the Planning and Analysis category the Ozarks Highlands National Heritage Area Feasibility Study led by JBC was recognized. As one of the first National Heritage Area feasibility studies to be led by landscape architects, the judges praised the Ozarks Highlands National Heritage Area (OHNHA) and noted that the “planning forged connections between natural history and human history.”

    Grand Opening of Repentance Park in Baton Rouge

    March 2013


    Jeffrey L. Bruce & Company wishes to congratulate Reed Hildebrand on the grand opening of the redesign of Repentance Park a primary component of the Riverfront Master Plan of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The acclaimed Repentance Park debuted Friday night with a fun-filled Live After Five concert. It was the largest attended Friday evening concert and certainly the largest crowd ever gathered at Repentance Park. JBC is proud to have been a team member on this prestigious project.
