The Alex Box Stadium experience is a unique one—created by loyal fans combined with an enduring legacy of championships. When the LSU Baseball program moved into a new 9,500-seat home, in February 2009, all of the traditions, memories, and excitement moved with them to the New Alex Box Stadium.
Not one, but two hurricanes dumped rain and scattered debris over the uncompleted field. The schedule for the installation of the Bermuda grass sod was delayed. Many feared that the field would unplayable by its early February deadline. With the benefits of decades of applied research and experience, Jeffrey L. Bruce & Company quickly modified its agronomic program for turf establishment and was highly successful in achieving sufficient root growth after fourteen days.
