The renovation and expansion of the historic Nelson Atkins Museum of Art will be accomplished in several phases through the year 2003.

JBC was hired as part of the design team for their extensive expertise in urban soil system and irrigation system design. A variety of site conditions (including various sloped and rooftop deck constructions) will be accommodated with soil and drainage systems engineered by JBC for specific drainage and planting characteristics.

A new, state-of-the-art irrigation system and booster pump assembly will not only provide for the watering needs of the new landscape areas, but will also boost the pressure in the current system to enhance its performance
