For
this project, Cathedral High School desired a top-of-the-line stadium football/soccer
field to improve their athletic facilities and create a venue to host regional
athletic events. JBC designed a perched water playing field system with 10 inches
of reinforced rootzone over 3 inches of gravel, including a drainage and irrigation
system for water management. A new zoysia grass hybrid was used that greatly
reduced the grow-in time and has produced a safe, resilient, high-performance
field. Construction was completed in the spring of 2000
